Alexis is currently an Associate Lecturer at Goldsmiths, University of London. There he combines doctoral research with teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. His research focuses on British film music the 1930s.
As an Edison Fellow at the British Library Sound Archive, he is researching Francis Chagrin and his work at the BBC French Service.
At Goldsmiths, Alexis lectures on the undergraduate courses Music and Film, Media Composition and the Masters module Composition for Moving Image Media.
As part of his work at Goldsmiths, Alexis is reviews editor of Music, Sound, and the Moving Image, a journal published by Liverpool University Press.
